YERRANDERIE’S FUTURE

Dear Friends of Yerranderie and YEA Members, as I have indicated for some time I need to transfer the Yerranderie Village Project to some other authority because of my age – 87 years.

I have finally decided that the NSW Government will be here long after I’m gone, or at least I hope it will.  So I am donating Yerranderie to the National Parks and Wildlife Minister with a list of my wishes for Yerranderie’s future.

My Company, Tonalli P/L is the owner of the property, some 1156 acres (468 hectares).  In turn, I own all the shares in the Company, so it is virtually my own.  Tonalli P/L has agreed to sell the land and buildings to the Minister for $975,000.00 – their own valuation.  To make good my long-time intention of giving Yerranderie to whichever authority will look after it, I am donating a similar amount of money to the Foundation for National Parks and Wildlife.  This authority is a Philanthropic Institution and will award me some tax deductions, I hope.  In turn, it will make sure that my wishes are complied with.

The contract with the Minister will have a covenant to ensure that the property will remain open to the Public as a Regional Park.  My vision for its future as an Eco and Educational Project will be part of the contract.  I wish Yerranderie to continue its present use in general terms.

The contract is now with my solicitors and will go on to the Crown Solicitor for approval.

I’ll keep you posted when it proceeds further.
