Yerranderie is very isolated. There is no fuel or shops from Mittagong or Oberon. Mobile phones only work from some high ridges. Guests, please ensure you phone before setting out, especially if requiring accommodation, camping, road, weather or fire restriction information. The road is particularly hard on tyres. Ensure that your spare is in good condition. The best way to protect tyres is to keep your speed low. All rubbish is to be taken out on your return journey. Please leave your pets and firearms at home.
Great Western Highway or Bell's Line of Road then via Oberon - Colong Stock Route
Jenolan Caves - Kowmung Fire Trail
Mittagong - Wombeyan Caves, Range Fire trail or Limeburners
Burragorang Valley thru the Prohibited Area by prior arrangement with N.P. & W.L.S. Audley
This is the shortest route from Sydney, approx 5.5 hrs. The road is sealed until the turnoff onto the Stock Route at Shooters Hill. One hour of fair dirt road to Bindook and then a further one hour of rough dirt into Yerranderie. Both 2 w/d and 4 w/d vehicles can be used in most conditions. Creeks can rise quickly after heavy rain, guests with 2 w/d vehicles should check with Yerranderie in wet weather. Watch for Kangaroos, Wallabies and other animals on the Stock Route and keep speed down to a safe level to avoid punctures.
Note!! This route is 4 w/d only. The Kowmung River is crossed, ( always walk the river fist to ascertain depth) and two steep ridges are traversed. Dingo Dell is a lovely spot for an early lunch. Look for Morong Falls, south of Dingo Dell on the way to the Stock Route.
Note!! This route is 4 w/d only. Visit beautiful Wombeyan Caves on the way in, then follow Range Fire trail to the Limeburners Flat turnoff and drop the 500 meters into the valley for an early lunch. (Please note: Limeburners Fire Trail is presently closed due to a NP&WL re-vegitation programme). Cross two small creeks then climb the ridge to the Stock Route. In bad weather continue along Range Fire trail to the Stock Route without dropping into Limeburners Flat.

Note!! This is restricted access, by arrangement with NPWS. Only three hours from Sydney and a beautiful drive. Leave from the locked gate near The Oaks, travel through the Burragorang Valley, cross the Wollondilly River (Water crossing, so 4 w/d only.) Then on road W4 to Yerranderie. There are many restrictions so check rules carefully with NPWS. Remember your deposit for accommodation at Yerranderie is non-refundable, if tour is cancelled you would have to come to Yerranderie via an alternate route.
