| It is set in an Historic Silver Mining area, listed on the
register of the National Estate and in a large private sanctuary abounding
with mobs of grey forrester kangaroos, wombats, wallabies, walleroos and
mountain birds in natural bushland. It is the hub of a scenic walking area
adjacent to the wilderness. Policies are similar to National Parks
so leave your pets and firearms at home.
Remember Yerranderie is in an isolated area. There is no petrol or food for sale. Don't forget warm clothes. Even in summer when the days are hot the nights can become cool. Please ensure you phone before setting out, especially if requiring accommodation, camping, road, weather or fire restriction information. All rubbish is to be taken out on your return journey. It is important to check the condition of your spare as the road is very hard on tyres!

They conduct guided walks and produce bush walking guides for this route.
No person should attempt this walk who is not experienced in wilderness backpacking and overnight camping. The walk is strenuous and demands all your stamina. The country is remote and isolated from all forms of communication and for the uninitiated it can be quite fearsome if they are confronted with an injury or sickness. Common sense coupled with safety first and allowing ample time and being well prepared will make this an enjoyable and worthwhile adventure.
